Inside of the Cathedral, you will find an incredible marble floor as well as its interior which preserves very important works of art: on the left side of Cathedral wall you will find the first two detached frescoes showing the "Condottiero Giovanni Acuto" and "Niccolò da Tolentino" painted respectively by Paolo Uccello and Andrea del Castagno in the fifteenth century. The clock with a counter-clockwise mechanism was also frescoed on the inside wall by Paolo Uccello in the fifteenth century.

The Dome is considered one of the most significant architectural achievements of the Renaissance. After seeing the Sistine Chapel, Giorgio Vasari was so inspired that he decided to create an enchanting tribute to his master. The internal walls of the Dome were frescoed by Giorgio Vasari and Federico Zuccari and portray a large scene of the "Final Judgement". The composition of the fresco takes into account the architectonic form of the vault in its eight sections and is considered one of the biggest artworks ever produced.
