You have definitely tried spaghetti alla carbonara, pizza, lasagna or even tiramisu at least once in your life. Cooking has been considered an art by Italians for a long time, and their seriousness and passion make them create the best dishes I have ever eaten. Italian cuisine has a rich history that dates back to antiquity. Already in ancient Rome, people ate dishes based on olive oil, herbs and cheese. In the Middle Ages, the diet was based mainly on cereals, vegetables and fish, and in the 16th century, thanks to geographical discoveries, new ingredients such as tomatoes, potatoes and peppers reached Italy. The Renaissance brought the development of pasta and pizza, and in the 19th century the cuisine became more various, combining French and Spanish influences.
Nowadays you can find Italian restaurants everywhere in huge quantities, but have you ever wanted to learn how to make these delicious dishes from an Italian chef? When tasting this cuisine, you may think that they are not the easiest to make - nothing could be further from the truth! You do not need many ingredients to make for example the ones I mentioned above.
Let's talk about carbonara. To make this dish, of course, you need spaghetti. Then egg yolks, some bacon, pecorino cheese, black pepper and about 20 minutes of cooking time. And that's it!
However, not everyone is great at cooking. Sometimes there is even a lack of time or desire. But when I came to Florence, I understood how cooking calms you down and what satisfaction it gives. Of course, the best part of this process is eating wonderful dishes. When I visited this city, I had the pleasure of taking part in a cooking class, where, thanks to the fantastic chefs and their assistants, I learned how to make delicious ravioli, tagliatelle and tiramisu from scratch and I also had the chance to try local wine and believe me, I have never had a better one! The lessons are about cooking and eating; could it be any better? Of course, it does not end with pasta; apart from that, you can learn how to make pizza, gelato and regional desserts, as well as visit a local market with Tuscan food.
Obviously, this course is perfect for fans of cooking and food, but I can also admit from my own experience that it is even for the ones that have a hard time in preparing any dish!
