Tours / A Non-Tourist-Trap Tenor in Florence: Authentic Opera Arias and Italian Songs

Florence has a new voice to hear.

A Florentine tenor—a true star of the Italian and international opera scene—brings a concert to his home city for locals and for anyone who holds Italian opera close to their heart.

After performing in Italy’s most important theaters—from La Scala in Milan to La Fenice in Venice, the Arena di Verona to the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, and the Teatro Regio in Parma to the Carlo Felice in Genoa—the tenor returns to Florence with a unique project. His international experience spans prestigious stages such as the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Vienna State Opera, the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, the Opéra de Marseille, and many other theaters worldwide.
This is not a show manufactured for tourists, but an authentic encounter with the great Italian musical tradition, set in a city that has made culture and art its very identity.
The event features about an hour of live music, with the tenor’s voice accompanied by a grand piano and a mandolin. The program varies by evening: the musical trio selects the arias for each performance, creating a unique experience every time.
The repertoire includes great Italian opera masterpieces by Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti, and Rossini, featuring unforgettable pieces such as "Nessun Dorma" from *Turandot*, "E lucevan le stelle" from *Tosca*, and "Libiamo ne’ lieti calici" from *La Traviata*.
There will also be the stirring emotion of classic Neapolitan songs: "Funiculì Funiculà," "Reginella," "Malafemmena," "’O Sole mio," and many others, selected according to the evening's specific program.

Performance venue: inside an evocative 14th-century Oratory—a place where the condemned would pause for a final prayer before making their way to the gallows.
Today, that same space resonates with a voice that speaks of love, passion, sorrow, and life.

For about an hour, a powerful voice rises beneath the Oratory’s ancient vaults—set against the backdrop of the apse fresco—accompanied by the delicate sounds of a grand piano and a mandolin.
It is a stirring contrast: the strength of a magnificent operatic voice set against the gentle tones of the instruments, all within a setting steeped in history and the vitality of Italian music.
A place that tells the story of centuries. A Florentine voice. Italian music.

Not just an ordinary concert, but an experience to be truly lived.
